This has nothing to do with archtop.
The guitar is the bridge between playing at the studio and performing live on stage with the same instrument.
So this is really a semi-acoustic nylon string.
Any kind of material can be discussed, even high quality mother of pearl inlay is available, as can be seen on the guitar custom made for Mr. Al Di Meola.
